The Strawberriest

As sixteenth century William Butler said, “Doubtless God could have made a better berry, but doubtless God never did.” Loaded with vitamin C, strawberries are also a great source of maganese, vitamin K, potassium, iron, and folic acid. And of course, that deep red color means they are full of antioxidants too.

 

Strawberries are a particularly great fruit to enjoy dried, which is how you’ll find them in your Mojamix.  With their thin skin and fragile structure, strawberries only last a few days after picking and are easy to damage.  Most strawberries you buy in a supermarket are picked a bit before their peak to facilitate shipping, but strawberries that will be dried can be picked at the absolute height of ripeness (and, therefore, sweetness).  The process of drying intensifies their flavor, creating a powerful punch of berry goodness with every breakfast bite.

 

Here’s a hint for adding strawberries to your MojaMix:  for a slightly subtle strawberry presence, add one portion per bag.  For a stronger hit, add two.  And if you want the taste of strawberries to provide most of the flavor—and sweetness—in your mix, add three.   Enjoy!
